Hello and Welcome,
Hipswell Parish covers Hipswell, Scotton, Colburn and the civilian parts of Catterick Garrison. The church communities of St John the Evangelist, Hipswell and St Cuthbert's, Colburn are committed to regular worship and to bringing the love of God to their local communities in many different ways.
Service times for the churches can be found on the menu to the left.We warmly welcome adults and children to all activities and to worship - why not try our family services and our monthly family quiz on the first Saturday of the month at Colburn Church Hall, 7pm? Baptisms and marriages can be booked between 5pm and 6pm every Monday evening (except Bank Holidays) at Colburn Church Hall on Colburn Lane where the Churchwardens and Vicar look forward to meeting you. Bible study meets on Monday nights at 6pm in the Church Hall - people from Anglican, Methodist and Pentecostal traditions meet to explore God together through scripture. Don't worry if you've never read the Bible - this is the perfect way to begin! Perhaps you'd like to ask questions about God or explore the whole idea of faith? Contact the Vicar to become part of 'Explorers'.
Both churches fully apply diocesan procedures designed to protect children and vulnerable adults. Junior Church meets at Colburn Church at 11am on each Sunday, apart from the second Sunday which is at 9.30am. Lively and age-appropriate teaching and games replace part of the regular Sunday service. Children of 3 years and upwards are welcome to join. See the Junior Church page on the menu.
